A Hundred Indecisions

I am a bold-faced liar ...

... several times a day. At least.

Ring. Ring.

"Hello."
___"Hello, may I speak with Mister R M?
"No, he's not here right now. May I take a message?"
___"Is this Missus M?"
"No, I'm the babysitter."
___"Well, this is just a courtesy call, we'll try back later."

Courtesy call my rear end.
I loathe telemarketers.

  • I loathe them too, and I have been known to lie to a few million of them myself!

  • I have started answering the phone with "B- family, WHO is calling please?"
They are not used to someone taking control of the converstaion as soon as the phone is answered. If they try to by-pass my question, I reapeat it until they tell me who is calling. Usually they actually hang up on me! If they don't hang up, and they tell me who they are, and then ask for me, I tell them "I'm sorry, Mrs. B is not available (which is totally true, I am not available for THEM!)...can I take a message? Sigh! Ditto the loathing! :)
